Love Your Neighbor as Yourself
The test of the new birth is the love test.
Only those who are born of God can manifest this God kind of love.
James 2:8 (King James Version)
"If ye fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, ye do well"
The love mentioned here is AGAPE love, or God's kind of love.
Agape love is sacrificial and unconditional.
Jesus laid down His life for us because of His agape love towards us.
While this Royal Law of Love is a high calling, an even higher calling is the commandment given by Jesus right before His death.
John 15:12-13 (New King James Version)
This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
Agape Love happens when our nature is one with His nature. The beauty is that it can't be forced. As you spend time in God's presence, in His Word and in Worship, His Love nature becomes your nature.
